Serves: 2-3

Prep Time: 5-10 min

Cook Time: 5 min

Pan con tomate is a Catalan staple that I had the pleasure of eating daily. It's both simple and delicious and best made with the freshest ingredients. You can use any bread for this recipe but would recommend a baguette or sourdough.

Ingredients

Bread, sliced & toasted

Garlic cloves, whole & peeled

Fresh tomatoes, halved

Extra virgin olive oil

Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread in the oven at 400 degrees or via the toaster.

  2. Cut the raw garlic in half and using the cut side, rub the clove onto the bread.

  3. Cut your tomato in half, and rub it on the bread. If you are not getting much out of the tomato, you can grate it and spread on extra tomato.

  4. Drizzle with olive oil and top off with a pinch of salt.

  5. Repeat this step until all the bread is used up, or you have made enough for your party. Enjoy!
