Banana Bread

Serves: 5-6

Prep Time: 20 min

Cook Time: 1 hour


This recipe has been in my family since I can remember. It’s easy, simple and delicious! Chocolate and nuts are optional, but highly recommended.



Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

3 mashed very-ripe bananas

⅓ cup milk

1 tsp lemon juice

½ cup chopped nuts

½ cup chocolate chips


Process

  1. Sift flour and add baking soda and salt into a large mixing bowl.

  2. Separately, cream the butter and gradually add sugar. Mix in eggs and bananas and blend.

  3. Combine the milk and lemon juice in another cup (ready to use immediately or it’ll curdle).

  4. Slowly and alternately, fold in the flour mixture and milk mixture, ending with the dry ingredients; blend well after each addition.

  5. Stir in nuts and chocolate.

  6. Pour the batter into a buttered pan.

  7. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
